When employees 👫🏻 are mentally 🧠 overwhelmed, diseases such as stress or burnout 😵 💫 syndrome appear that affect their potential and, consequently, the profitability of the organization.
The Human 🫂 Resources area is in charge of leading promotion and prevention measures, whose main objective is to prevent and detect warning signs that endanger mental health at work.
Some of these measures to be implemented are;
1. Remove taboos and communicate with employees: 📢
Many times it is the employees themselves who do not communicate their status for fear of reprisals or being stigmatized. It is the company’s job to generate an open culture where workers can express themselves freely.
2. Establish and respect work vs. personal spaces: 🌎
Life outside the office exists and must be respected. People don’t work 24/7 and have other responsibilities and hobbies. Therefore, define the time of entry, exit and rest well and be flexible when organizing tasks.
3. It offers the right to digital disconnection: 💻
With the advancement of technology and the digitization of processes, it is currently very easy to fall into the temptation of sending e-mails or WhatsApps to employees during their break time, avoid it.
4. Create a healthy environment: 🏋🏻 ♀️
Take initiatives that promote the use of healthy habits both inside and outside the organization.
For example, to avoid the negative effects of spending too many hours sitting (back pain, eye strain, etc.), a space is created where people can dedicate a few minutes a day to the practice of physical and mental exercises such as mindfulness or pilates.
In your organization, do you take care of yourself and are you taken care of? ⚖️
